These positions are in Office of Air and Radiation (OAR), Office of Transportation and Air Quality (OTAQ), Transportation and Climate Division (TCD).
About EPA OAR
This is an office-centered position*--you must physically report to one of the duty stations stated in this announcement on a regular basis (location TBD after candidate selected).*Work-from-home flexibilities may be authorized as described in the Benefits section.

Qualifications
We are looking for at least one year of specialized experience related to this position as described below:
To qualify for the GS-09 level, you need to have at least one year of full-time experience equivalent to the GS-07 level defined as assisting senior staff in developing air program plans and guidance; recommending modifications to various aspects of Federal air programs; reviewing and commenting on new or revised air program components. - OR master's or equivalent graduate degree; or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; or LL.B. or J.D., if related; degree in an academic discipline related to this position - OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Your answers to the online assessment will be used to evaluate your competencies in the following areas: 1) Knowledge of the Clean Air Act and/or other pertinent air quality statutes and regulations; 2) Skill in using standard data gathering and analysis techniques to collect and review technical information; 3) Skill in oral communication sufficient to explain policy or procedural requirements to a variety of internal and external contacts; 4) Skill in written communication sufficient to respond to requests for general information, and assist in development of program reporting and guidance; 5) Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
