About the Position: You will execute program goals and objectives for the installation and surrounding area for the Army Community Service Employment Readiness Program which focuses on employment assistance to military spouses and family members.

Duties

Develop a database of job opportunities based on knowledge of client skills and abilities and relationships with employers within the community. Design workshops/seminars to educate clients on employment topics such as resume writing, interviewing techniques, networking, and/or salary negotiation. Design marketing strategies and public relations programs to ensure clients are informed of employment program services. Conduct job fairs/career study groups to link clients with direct networking opportunities with potential employers. Brief high level officials on employment programs advising on program successes, deficiencies, resources, and/or opportunities. Respond to customer feedback to maintain positive client relationships and improve employment program operations.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be able to perform up to 5% of temporary duty (TDY) travel.

Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in behavioral or social science, or related disciplines appropriate to the position. (NOTE: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR B. Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. (NOTE: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR C. Experience: Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service which includes; 1) experience in collecting, organizing, analyzing and presenting information to the military community; 2) conduct training on specific job skills such as resume writing, interviewing and networking and; 3) research occupational trends and educational programs. OR B. Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position, such as behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR C. Specialized experience described in A, but less than one year; and at least two years of graduate education as described in B, but less than the required three years. I have computed the percentage of the requirements that I meet, and the total is at least 100% (To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then, divide your semester hours of graduate education beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify.). (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR C. Specialized experience as described in A AND the education described in B.
