You will serve as a SAFETY AND OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH SPECIALIST in the Office of the Special Assistant for Safety of NAVAL EDUCATION AND TRAINING COMMAND.
Duties
You will be the technical advisor to the leadership of subordinate activities on all matters of high and moderate-risk training safety.
You will manage applicable High and Moderate Risk Training Safety programs at the Headquarters level.
You will perform analysis of mishaps and assists in developing plans for implementation of mishap reduction efforts.
You will interpret safety standards and regulations and participate in developing new or revised standards, when appropriate.

- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- May be required to wear protective equipment, such as masks, goggles, shields, firefighter protective clothing, respirators, or self-contained breathing apparatus.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Planning, organizing, directing, operating and evaluating a DoD Safety and Occupation Health and Training Safety Program; 2) Evaluating industrial and aviation maintenance work processes and equipment to determine factors contributing to accidents and resulting in hazardous work conditions; 3) Instructing technical and occupational safety subjects to employees responsible for hazardous activities; and 4) Performing mishap investigations to determine and evaluate factors contributing to incidents and providing recommendations for corrective actions.
