About the Position: Serves as a Senior Human Resources (HR) Specialist (Military) and Senior Analyst to the Team Chief for the Branch within the Readiness Division, Enlisted Personnel Management Directorate, with responsibility for providing technical advice and guidance regarding a wide variety of military HR programs that include strength management; unit readiness; requisition management; personnel readiness; and various other Human Resources (Military) functions for all Army units supported.
Duties
Identifies the impact of changes on the regulations, policies and procedures of Service and subordinate organizations.
Prepares, or assists in preparing regulations, service pamphlets, circulars, field manuals or comparable guidelines, and ensures proper review and approval.
Prepares reports and presents briefings to inform officials of analysis results for use in the decision-making process or for in progress status information.
Participates in the preparation of regularly scheduled production reports and attend meetings to discuss workload issues.
Provides guidance, interpretations, training and/or briefings on current and proposed policies for assigned military personnel distribution programs.
Requirements

- Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.
- Due to the nature of this position, employees are required to work both planned and unscheduled overtime.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service which includes managing Enlisted strength for selected Units for Major Army Commands (ACOMS); Unified Combatant Commands (UCC); DOD/Joint Agencies and Field Activities. Serves as a staff-level Human Resources (HR) Specialist (Military) with responsibility for requisitioning for managed commands, providing technical guidance regarding a wide variety of military HR programs that include strength management; unit readiness, personnel readiness; replacement operations; and various other HR functions for all active units. Advise Senior Analyst/Branch Chief (s) and senior leaders on all external inquiries pertaining to personnel and unit readiness for managed units.
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
