About the Position: Located in the Department of Medical Education at Womack Army Medical Center on Fort Liberty, NC. This position supports the training needs of the Medical Simulation Center by coordinating and executing medical simulation training. Some training is conducted off campus, in the field, and in training centers at Fort Bragg. Hours of work are 0730-1600 hours M-F.
Duties
Assist in conducting simulation training and exercises to support mission goals.
Provide monthly reports to the Medical Simulation Administrator on the Centers use, training, and budget issues.
Troubleshoot issues with simulation equipment and supplies and schedule calibration and/or repair as necessary.
Prepare purchasing requests such to obtain required equipment and supplies.
Operate a myriad of simulation platforms and learning management systems such as human patient simulators, and augmented reality simulators.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- A favorable National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) may be required for this position.
- This position has a requirement to lift up to 45 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
- This position has mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirements and is subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations unless otherwise exempted for medical or religious reasons (documentation of exemption must be provided upon hire).
- This position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain a Healthcare Simulation Operations Specialist certification from the Society for Simulation in Healthcare within 2 years of onboarding.
- This position requires that you obtain and maintain a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- This position requires that you obtain and maintain an Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes assisting with planning, coordinating, or performing medical simulation training; analyzing and preparing training data for reports; advising on proper use of training equipment; and maintaining simulator equipment and supplies within a medical treatment facility or clinic. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
OR
Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Healthcare Simulation, Advanced Nursing (MSN), or Modeling and Simulation.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
