About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the U.S. Army Intelligence and Security Command 500th Military Intelligence Brigade Office of the Commander.
Duties
Serve as the Safety and Occupational Health Manager for 500th Military Intelligence Brigade with responsibility for planning, managing, and administering a safety and occupational health program.
Serve as the technical expert to identify, analyze, and provide risk management control measures for life-threatening hazards.
Deploy with Area of Operation units and other operations as tasked by higher headquarters.
Assure proper mishap notification and investigation procedures are followed.
Formulate a schedule for and conducts compliance inspections and surveys of ranges, organizations, operations, facilities, and equipment to identify operational, facility, and systemic safety and health deficiencies.
Develop lesson plans, support materials, lessons learned, and risk management information for instructional use.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
- In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85 (Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program), must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance based on a T5 (or equivalent level) investigation with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
- May be required to perform TDY up to 25% of the time on an annual basis.
- All INSCOM employees may be subject to extended TDY or worldwide deployments during crisis situations to perform mission essential functions as determined by management.
- Possess Professional Certificate in Safety and Occupational Health (PCSOH) or able to complete requirements within 12 months of assignment.
