About the Position: This position is located in the Patient Administrative Department, Naval Health Clinic New England, Naval Branch Health Clinic, Groton, Connecticut., Office setting, Mon - Fri 0730-1600. Clerical customer service position that communicates the programs attributes as it relates to the active duty sponsors duty assignments and documentation requirements
Duties
Responsibilities Receives and addresses inquiries directly from beneficiaries, Medical Treatment Facility staff, other network agencies, and various interested parties.
Provides assistance and education to a wide variety of beneficiaries on established TRICARE procedures and benefits.
Schedules appointments as needed.
Ensures that patients get access to correct providers.
Using an automated data processing system and a variety of software packages, accomplishes a wide range of clerical, statistical, and data entry/ retrieval tasks in support of administrative work.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires a minimum Secret security clearance. The incumbent must remain eligible for the required clearance at all times while serving in this position TIER 3.

- This position requires a Hepatitis vaccination.
- This position requires a Tuberculosis Test.

Specialized Experience GS-6: One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service which includes experience such as scheduling appointments, utilization of computers and automated systems and equipment to enter, retrieve, and/or update data, and an understanding of effective oral and written communication techniques sufficient to develop briefings, prepare correspondence, reports, and informational material.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05).
