Qualifications
To qualify for the GS-14 level, you must have 1 year of full-time* specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 level defined as leading or advising on the development of projects or studies related to climate adaptation, resilience, or mitigation; and evaluating climate program outcomes or activities and making recommendations for improvement.
Your answers to the online assessment will be used to evaluate your competencies in the following areas: 1) Ability to advise on strategies and practices related to climate adaptation, resilience, and mitigation; 2) Knowledge of environmental laws, regulations, and policies; 3) Skill in program analysis and evaluation; 4) Ability to collaborate with internal and external partners; 5) Skill in negotiation; 6) Skill in project management.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
