About the Position: This position serves as the Anti-Terrorism Officer /Security Plans and Operations Officer for the Directorate
of Emergency Services.
Duties
Implements procedures to deter, detect, and defend and recover from terrorist threats.
Advises on the formulation and coordination of Anti-Terrorism plans, operational, emergency, and special plans, procedures.
Documents the proactive planning within the depot force protection security program.
Coordinates with various staff offices on a regular basis to ensure modifications affecting the program are understood, disseminated and implemented.
Determines causes of unfavorable trends and makes authoritative, professional decisions and directs corrective actions.
Establishes organizational and position structures within the Division in a manner designed to achieve maximum economy and efficiency.
Requirements
- This position requires a Secret Clearance.
- Temporary Duty Travel (TDY) is required approximately 10% of the time.
- This position is subject to random drug testing.
- This position is subject to the Lautenberg Amendment/Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968.
- This position requires incumbent to obtain and maintain certification as an AT Level II instructor.
- This position requires the incumbent to qualify for and remain qualified for the Unescorted Access Program.
- May be required, if qualified, to participate in Chemical Accident/Incident Response and Assistance (CAIRA) situations and serve on teams dedicated to controlling CAIRA situations after being trained for particular duty involved.
- This position has been identified for the Security Professional Education Development (SPeD)Certification Program. This is the Department of Defense (DoD) Security Certification Program directed by DoD Instruction 3305.13.
- This position requires the incumbent obtain the following core SPeD Certification: Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) within their first two years of employment.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes assisting creating antiterrorism/security operational plans, policies, and procedures; evaluating physical security programs to determine their effectiveness; assisting in coordination of operational, emergency and/or special plans that relate to security of the installation; and, developing short term and long-term plans regarding annual work planning and programs.. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
