You will serve as a PRODUCTION CONTROLLER (SHIPBUILDING) in the Non-Nuclear Receipt Inspection Division, Quality Assurance Office of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD.

Duties

You will review, assemble and distribute the required work packages to project supervisors. You will establish, maintain and update data logs and report on job status for all projects, assure proper funding and resolve problems on requested inspections. You will serve as the Non-Nuclear Receipt Inspection scheduling liaison and primary contact for Non-Nuclear Receipt Inspection with production shops. You will assemble and review software work packages prior to distribution to project supervisors and Receipt Inspectors. You will establish, maintain and update data logs required by the Receipt Inspection Division and update status reports for all projects.

  • Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Practical and technical knowledge of Receipt Inspection (RI) processes and standards. Knowledge of all phases of RI and status of most of the requested inspections. Intensive practical knowledge of all RI inspection processes including documentation requirements plus the ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, process instructions, job orders, design memoranda and inspection requests. Ability to establish, maintain, and upload data logs and ability to use computer terminal.
