You will serve as a Supervisory Production Controller (SHIPBUILDING) in the Project Support Branch, Operations Department, Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, Kittery, Maine.

Duties

You will serve as system manager for the development, implementation and operation of the automated scheduling system for submarine work. You will develop and maintain an implementation plan for automating all scheduling evaluations. You will determine need and identify all scheduling requirements to be accomplished through automation, such as resources, shops/codes, manning per shift, trade, material and equipment. You will develop methods for collecting, inputting and analyzing physical progress data. You will serve as liaison and coordinate with all levels of shipyard management on issues concerning the automation of scheduling systems. You will assign work, provide technical guidance, personnel management, performance management, position management, oversee training, recommend promotions, approve leave, recommend awards, resolve disciplinary issues, and administer EEO policies.

Qualifications

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: In order to qualify for this position, your resume must demonstrate at least one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped you with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills, and abilities, to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience with submarines and shipboard systems repair, overhaul and maintenance schedules. Experience developing methods of collecting, inputting and analyzing physical progress data. Experience issuing, updating schedules, sequences and ad hoc reports to support the full range of shipyard projects. Experience working with computer terminals and computer systems, work sequences and operations required in the construction, conversion or repair of ship systems.
