You will serve as a LEAD PRODUCTION CONTROLLER (SHIPS) in the PROJECT SUPPORT, OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD.

Duties

You will be responsible for monitoring overhaul progress and adjust overhaul control documents to reflect changes in overhaul sequences or schedules. You will amend or reject work not meeting established standards. You will be responsible for scheduling nuclear refueling work directly supporting the Production Department Refueling Manage staff, the Nuclear Refueling Engineering Code, and the Nuclear Planning and Estimating Branch. You will monitor work conditions such as seating, ventilation, lighting, safety, etc.

• You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: * Experience executing all functions of the corporate scheduling system without direction support. * Experience managing refueling work, refueling work breakdown and test relationships. * Experience reading blueprints, system diagrams, technical manuals and process instructions. * Experience issuing, updating schedules, sequences and ad hoc reports to support the full range of shipyard projects. * Experience working with computer terminals and computer systems, work sequences and operations required in the construction, conversion or repair of ship systems. * Experience working with the design and shipboard operation of pressurized water reactor plants including maintenance evolutions, operations and testing.
