You will serve as a PRODUCTION CONTROLLER in the BUDGET/RESOURCES and ADP BRANCH, ENGINEERING and PLANNING DEPARTMENT of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD.
Duties
You will make work site inspections aboard the ship or in the shop to determine planning requirements, identify interferences, and progress of work status of expenditures.
You will plan for and initiate work instructions for Pre-availability testing of components specified/authorized by the Availability Work Package to determine their material condition and or need for repairs.
You will prepare work instructions, which authorizes and defines the scope of work to be completed.
You will establish initial funding for Production Support level of effort services such as rigging and crane, fire watch and gas free services.

- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications
GS-1152-12
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
* Experience developing estimates for direct labor and material costs by shops/trade skill set, for each work step using applicable process instructions and standards.
* Experience planning production control for the overhaul and repair of nuclear submarines.
* Experience estimating direct labor and material costs, determining material needs, initiating procurement actions and scoping work.
* Experience preventing or alleviating production delays, scheduling conflicts, faulty processes, and lack of sufficient materials.
GS-1152-11
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
* Experience performing job planning and waterfront support in various trade disciplines for the overhaul, conversion, repair, custom manufacturing, of nuclear submarines and other ships assigned.
* Experience preparing, creating, reviewing and routing job summaries and task group instructions (TGIs).
* Experience ensuring contracting processes and contract requirements are enforced.
* Experience using computer systems to identify material, provide drawings and specifications, and prepare technical work instructions.
