This position reports to the Associate Director of Patient Care Services. The incumbent serves as an Administrative Program Specialist for Nursing Service at the Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center. The incumbent is responsible for the comprehensive coordination of all administrative and operational aspects functions for the service line.

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 02/12/2024.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-07 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-06. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade.
Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.
You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below:
GS-7:Experience: You qualify for the GS-07 grade level if you possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 grade level in the federal service that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position and is in the normal line of progression for this occupation. Qualifying specialized experience includes:
Preparing a variety of correspondence (such as letters, memoranda, commendations);
Compiling data from diverse sources, extracts and assembling information for reports or presentations;
Analyzing data maintained in an automated tracking system or in computer programs using spreadsheets;
Skill, and proficiency in multiple document preparation using (excel, word, power point)
GS-09: Experience: You qualify for the GS-09 grade level if you possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the federal service that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position and is in the normal line of progression for this occupation. Qualifying specialized experience includes:
Analyzing data and generating reports based on analysis;
Making oral and written presentations;
Skill, and proficiency in multiple document preparation using (excel, word, power point);
Developing strategies for completing special projects involving administrative or support issues;
Informing key staff members and management officials of problems, controversies, and issues which has a significant impact on the priorities of various actions being considered.

Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities.
