Qualifications
We are looking for at least one year of specialized experience related to this position as described below:
To qualify for the GS-11 level, you need to have at least one year of full-time experience equivalent to the GS-09 level defined as providing assistance to stakeholders on programs pertaining to chemical accident preparedness and/or prevention of hazardous substances.- OR Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; or LL.M., in an academic discipline related to this position- OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
To qualify for the GS-12 level, you need to have at least one year of full-time experience equivalent to the GS-11 level defined as providing assistance to stakeholders on programs pertaining to chemical accident preparedness and/or prevention of hazardous substances; evaluating effectiveness of chemical accident prevention programs; and coordinating with internal and external personnel on a variety of issues, activities, and/or projects.
Your answers to the online assessment will be used to evaluate your competencies in the following areas:
Ability to develop strategies and plans.
Knowledge of environmental regulations and directives related to chemical accident preparedness and/or prevention of hazardous substances.
Knowledge of chemical accident regulatory programs to assist regulated entities to be in compliance.
Skill in written communication.
Skill in oral communication.
