You will serve as an ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN (MECHANICAL) in the MATERIALS, STRUCTURES, ENVIRONMENTAL & PROTECTION DIVISION within the MACHINERY RESEARCH, LOGISTICS & SHIP INTEGRITY DEPT of NSWC PHILA DIV.

Duties

You will serve as a mechanical engineering technician in support of the NSWCPD Wastewater programs. You will perform assessments, calibration, troubleshooting, and general fleet support on all Waste-water Systems. You will coordinate and manage Wastewater Equipment Repairs while developing relationships with stakeholders. You will support project management, financial and sponsor briefings, development and completion of product, and coordination with Fleet units and support contractors. You will prepare specifications and supporting documentation for implementation of new technologies.

Requirements

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

For the GS-10: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector applying a wide range of technical engineering principles to assemble, test, troubleshoot or repair equipment or systems related to the assessment of water or the environment. For the GS-9: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-08) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector applying technical engineering principles to assist in the assembly, testing, troubleshooting or repair of equipment or systems related to the assessment of water or the environment.
