DUTIES:
The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the Supervisory Information Systems Security Manager / Information Assurance Lead
Direct, plan, organize, and oversee the activities of the Information Assurance workforce. Exercise supervisory personnel management responsibility over the Information Assurance staff.
Serve as the senior technical advisor for Information Assurance services for the AFNWC Eglin campus. Oversee and direct subordinate government personnel and contractors as required to maintain effective and efficient Information Assurance Services day-to-day operations for AFNWC Eglin.
Oversee and direct subordinate government personnel and contractors as required to ensure information assurance, COMSEC, and TEMPEST compliance across the AFNWC Eglin campus.
Plan, organize, and direct cyber or information/knowledge management (IM) activities which comply with legal, regulatory, and AF/DoD-directed requirements and meet mission and customer needs.
Coordinate with program and project managers of other organizations and agencies in developing, operating, and modifying policies to ensure local Cybersecurity applications meet mission/project requirements.
Provide knowledge of the principles and methods to identify, analyze, specify, design, and manage functional and infrastructure Information Assurance requirements; includes translating functional requirements into technical requirements used for logical design or alternative technologies or approaches.
Deliver presentations on program status, accomplishments, problems/analysis/solutions, requirements for support, and promotion of program objectives to senior military officers and civilians in other program offices of the command, and with using and supporting commands.
Establish and maintain organizational Information Assurance training programs.
SKILLS:
Primary: Information Systems Security Manager
Manage the necessary resources, including leadership support, financial resources, and key security personnel, to support information technology (IT) security goals and objectives and reduce overall organizational risk.
Additional: Vulnerability Assessment Analyst
Performing assessments of systems and networks or enclave and identifying where those systems/networks deviate from acceptable configurations, enclave policy, or local policy. Measuring effectiveness of defense-in-depth architecture against known vulnerabilities.
Additional: Cyber Defense Incident Responder
Perform cyber defense incident triage, to include determining scope, urgency, and potential impact; identifying the specific vulnerability; and making recommendations that enable expeditious remediation.
Supervisory experience sufficient to ensure employees are properly organized, mentored, trained, and equipped to carry out the Division mission.
Comprehensive understanding of federal acquisition, weapon systems development, and Advisory and Assistance acquisition processes.
Strong background in Air Force personnel management, personnel management systems and hiring practices.
Extensive management experience that has demonstrated effective leadership, solid communication skills, and robust management skills
Ability to interact with leadership and staff from the Division level through senior Air Force leadership, and the ability to close on projects.
Strong initiative, self-motivation, interest in learning new information, and the ability to work independently while guiding the work of others on the team are essential.
HIGHLY DESIRED:
Formal education is highly desired, but is not required. A bachelor's or higher degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or a similar major field of study that includes the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks is desired, but not required.

- Information Assurance Certification is a condition of employment. This position includes assurance (IA) work as a paramount requirement. Per DoD 8570.01-M.
- The incumbent of this position must achieve the appropriate IA certification within six months of assignment of these duties. A waiver of this six month requirement may be granted per DoD 8570.01-M, C3.2.4.2 or C3.2.4.3.
- Failure to receive the proper IA certification may result in removal from this position. This position is identified as a requirement must hold an IAT II DoD Approved 8570 certification (Security+ CE, CCNA Security, etc.) as a minimum.
- This position has been designated as an Non-Critical Acquisition Position and is covered by the Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP).
- Employee must meet, or be capable of meeting Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) certification requirements applicable to the career category designated on the position description within 24 months of assignment.
- This position also requires the employee to engage in acquisition continuous learning activities achieving 80 Continuous Learning points every 24 months.
- Subject to Temporary Duty Assignment (TDY): Approximately 20 days per year.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Expert knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques of cyber, IT, or IM assessment, planning, management, monitoring, and evaluation as well as knowledge of the principles, methods, or tools for developing, scheduling, coordinating, managing cyber, IT, or IM projects and resources, monitoring and inspecting costs, work, and contractor performance. Ability to lead and manage information systems planning, development, implementation, operation, and maintenance as well as ability to make decisions or recommendations that is significantly impact important agency cyber, IT, or IM policies or programs.
Knowledge of the principles, methods, and tools for the coordinated management of cyber, IT, or IMprograms to include providing oversight of multiple projects, integrating dependent schedules and deliverables, and related activities such as life cycle management and program governance. Ability to develop and interpret policies,procedures, and strategies governing the planning and delivery of services. Skill in applying new developments to previously unsolvable problems.
Knowledge of the principles and methods to identify, analyze, specify, design, and manage functional and infrastructure requirements; includes translating functional requirements into technical requirements used for logical design or alternative technologies or approaches. Ability to research and analyze external products to determine their potential for meeting mission requirements and business needs.
Knowledge of concepts, practices, and leadership techniques used to identify, engage, influence and monitor relationships with individuals and groups connected to cyber, IT, or IM work/development efforts. Includes those who are actively involved, those who exert influence over the process and its results, and those who have a vested interest in the outcome. Ability to provide expert technical advice, guidance, and recommendations to management and other technical specialists on critical cyber, IT, or IM issues as well as ability to work effectively with customers to assess their requirements then provide information, expertise, and assistance to satisfy those needs.
Knowledge of methods of leadership and supervision to hold others accountable for measurable high-quality,timely, and cost-effective results. Ability to determine objectives, make sound, well-informed, and objective decisions, set priorities, cause change, and accomplish organizational goals.
