Duties

If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for the management of docketing and case processing for the district which includes, managing case tracking and record keeping automated systems, opening and closing case status report development. Typical work assignments will include: Lifting and shifting file boxes between 10-20 pounds routinely in order to maintain the docketing file room. Reviewing case files to ensure accuracy of all information entered into automated system. Maintaining automated records for the criminal and civil case workload, or both as assigned. Entering required docketing codes into case tracking system for reporting, opening and closing cases, submitting and retrieving files to and from archives. Assisting office personnel obtain information from databases and interpret output. Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.

Requirements

  • You must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
  • Initial appointment is conditioned upon a satisfactory pre-employment adjudication. This includes fingerprint, credit and tax checks, and drug testing. Continued employment is subject to a favorable adjudication of a background investigation.
  • You must be registered for Selective Service, if applicable.
  • If selected, you may be required to complete a one year probationary period.
  • Time-in-Grade: Federal employees must meet time-in-grade requirements within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement.
  • You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement and before placement in the position.

Qualifications

For the GS-07 level, you must have at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 level. Specialized Experience is defined as experience reviewing legal documents utilizing a variety of case tracking and record keeping systems; performing entry of complex data into the electronic file and case tracking systems; preparing and reviewing reports, documents, and case records to identify errors, updates database and system records; recommending revision of office procedures to improve docketing functions; and develops local docketing training. Interagency Career Transition Assistance Plan (ICTAP)- The ICTAP provides eligible displaced Federal competitive service employees with selection priority over other candidates for competitive service vacancies.
