You will serve as an Electronic Integrated Systems Mechanic Supervisor I in the Organization Code 71082B of the Weapons Repair Department of TRIDENT REFIT FACILITY, BANGOR.

Duties

You will assign and explain work requirements and deadlines to individuals and provides technical direction or help in accomplishing difficult work processes. You will inspect completed work for adherence to work package requirements and quality guidelines. You will track and observe work in progress to avoid or anticipate problems, reassign personnel within work group and coordinate with other supervisors to ensure work progress meets schedules. You will plan the use of equipment, facilities, and materials to accomplish a variety of work within established refit cycles. You will set performance standards, make formal appraisals of subordinate work performance, counsel subordinates on improvement of work performance, determine training needs, schedule and approve subordinates leave requests. You will supervise personnel in the accomplishment of preventive and corrective maintenance of full depot level overhauls.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You may be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
  • You must be willing and able to work onboard ships. You may be required to work on submarines at sea for short periods of time (sea trials, etc.).
  • You must be willing and able to lift and/or carry loads/items up to 40 pounds in weight.
  • You will be required to work an uncommon tour of duty (may include weekend, nights, overtime, or holidays). You will be required to work a Shift Work schedule. A Shift Work schedule describes work performed with varying and/or rotating shifts.
  • You may be required to qualify for inclusion into the Personnel Reliability Program (PRP).
  • You may be required to qualify as a nuclear weapons radiation worker.
  • You may be required to become CWHS for handling explosives such as the AN/BST-1 System. You may be required to be on the Explosive Certifying Board.
  • You may be required to have working knowledge and experience in administering Department of the Navy Communications Security Material System (CMS) Program.
  • This position may be designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position in specialty area (41), incumbents of the designated position are required to comply with the DON Cyber IT/CSWF Program requirements of SECNAV M-5239.2
