About the Position: As the Administrative Assistant, the incumbent is responsible for the implementation and management under the guidance of the Division Administrative Officer on all administrative activities for the Hydrology and Hydraulics Branch.

Duties
Assist with human resources support for the Branch and is the point of contact for all manpower/personnel actions and their related activities.
Manage and perform various administrative duties, not limited to property management, space utilization, travel, requisitioning and supply management with a government purchase card, branch correspondence, and mail distribution.
Ensure project and office records are maintained in accordance with the regulation.
Assist the Branch staff with automated programs specific to administrative and business processes such as CEFMS (time entry and review), personnel processing systems, etc.
Assist in gathering a variety of narrative information and statistical data needed in the formulation, execution, and presentation of budget requests.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Incumbent must be able to type at least 40 words per minute.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing one or more of the following administrative support functions such as preparing/reviewing correspondence, timekeeping, file maintenance, and making travel arrangements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
OR
Education: A half year (i.e., 9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as in Business, Management, or Human Resources. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 9. Add the two percentages. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.
