You will serve as a GG-2210-14 Supervisory IT Specialist (PLCYPLN) at the HOPPER GLOBAL COMMUNICATIONS CENTER in Suitland, MD. As the Technical Director/Special Projects Officer for Operations Department (N3), you will perform a wide range of strategic IT management activities as well as first level supervisor functions.
Duties
You will serve as the Technical Director/Special Projects Officer for the Hopper Global Communications Center, Operations Department (N3).
You will provide advice and assistance in the planning, implementation, and execution of a multi-million dollar annual budget for IT systems and services.
You will provide input to investment control, resources planning, policy and standards development, and configuration management for the IT enterprise.
You will coordinate the synchronized execution of IT projects as assigned and track the execution of all IT projects within the department to ensure timely satisfaction of validated requirements.
You will contribute to the department's strategic plans and policies to govern information systems as well as current and future business needs.
You will provide briefs and implement senior policy decisions and articulate goals, objectives, assessments, and requirements for evaluation and approval.
Requirements

- This position may require a 2-year DCIPS trial period.
- This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area 752; see Additional Information section.
Qualifications
This position requires one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined:
1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
In addition to experience demonstrating the four competencies above, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GG/GS-13)or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing duties such as:
1. Provide advice and assistance in the planning, implementation, and execution of a multi-million dollar annual budget for IT systems and services, as well as input on IT contracts and their associated workforce.
2. Perform a wide range of strategic IT management activities throughout the organization.
3. Provide input to investment control, resources planning, policy and standards development, and configuration management for the IT enterprise.
4. Support department mission to operate, maintain, safeguard, and sustain currently fielded IT architecture on SCI networks.
5. Ensure the rigorous application of information security and information assurance policies, principles, and practices in the implementation and operations of IT infrastructure systems.
