This position is located in the Office of Minority and Women Inclusion (OMWI), Complaints Processing Branch and serves as the Senior Equal Employment Specialist. The position is responsible for evaluating and assessing employment and business programs and activities of the FDIC, with the specific intent of preventing, resolving and eliminating unlawful discrimination.
Duties
Reviews EEO Counselors' reports and formal complaint documents to identify claims and to determine acceptance for investigation and make determinations on jurisdiction, purview, timeliness, and other matters impacting processing.
Qualifications
Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the CG/GS-13 grade level or above in the Federal service.
Specialized experience is defined as experience applying Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) laws, regulations, policies and procedures related to non-discrimination, harassment and retaliation to perform and/or coordinate investigative, analytical, and advisory assignments to resolve EEO complaints, and evaluating diversity and inclusion programs to identify deficiencies and ascertain the effectiveness of program goals and objectives.
