Duties

Serves as a Health System Specialist in a Medical Treatment Facility (MTF) within the Defense Health Agency. Performs support duties of a Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) in support of the Direct Healthcare Provider Program (DHCPP) Perform support duties of a Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) in support of the Direct Healthcare Provider Program (DHCPP) and other assigned contracting efforts for the organization. Performs contract preparation duties. Research cost analysis for clinical provider or other contracts. Perform market surveys for contracted services by telephoning, internet searching, researching library references and/or other medical references. Maintain a listing of contractors and prepares spreadsheets and tracks the number of hours worked or services received.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Required to perform approximately 5% TDY/travel.
  • This position is Emergency Essential.
  • This position requires you to submit a Public Financial Disclosure Report (OGE 278) or a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE450) upon entry, and annually thereafter.

Qualifications

Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Basic Qualifications for GS-07 Level: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes preparing and proving information of a statistical/narrative nature in response, to clinical operations; utilize query tools to monitor clinic workload, provider productivity, patient satisfaction, patient flow, and access to care. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). OR Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Hospital Administration or Public Administration or related fields such as Business or Public administration with course work in Health Care Administration. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages. Basic Qualifications for GS-09 Level: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes applying knowledge of clinical practices to monitor work operations; providing standardized processes and procedures to identify and solve resource management issues; assisting with submissions of personnel actions; reviewing operational costs to ensure operations are managed within allocated funds; and advise on credentials regulations, policies, and requirements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Hospital Administration or Public Administration or related fields such as business or public administration with course work in health care administration. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
