About the Position: Serve as the Supervisory Health Systems Specialist, working under the general supervision of the Chief, Family Advocacy Program (FAP), who provides overall guidance and objectives, deadlines, priorities, and projects to be accomplished in consultation with the incumbent. This position is located at Fort Stewart, Georgia

Duties

Performs comprehensive budgeting over-watch for all expenditures within the Family Advocacy Program (FAP). Independently monitors all supply expenditures and advises the FAP Chief on program personnel, supply, TDY, and equipment accounts within the Department of Behavioral Health. Ensures that all staff members are adequately trained in workload data capture, and that the data is captured accurately. Monitors, analyzes, and ensures data integrity of schedules and other documentation necessary for manpower and force structure management. Maintains files and inventory of statistical reports in accordance with established security protocols. Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, set and adjust short-term priorities and prepare schedules for completion of work.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is therefore subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations.
  • Applicants tentatively selected for appointment to this position will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations.
  • This position may require travel away from duty station (TDY) 5%. Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.
  • IAW AR 40-562, this position requires Immunization screening. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact.
  • This position requires a one-year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties unless previously completed.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: analyzing administrative activities within a medical facility to identify trends with health systems processes; assisting in the development of facility procedures to increase efficiency; assisting in the workload distribution among subordinate employees; and preparing budgetary reports to ensure facility's fiscal compliance. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Business or Health Management. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Attention to DetailHealth Systems AnalysisLeadership Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
