Duties

Serves as Director of Specialized Management Operations with responsibility in directing the accomplishment of worldwide mission responsibilities. Provide integrated logistics support to assigned Class IX items in support of major weapons systems, troops, equipment, facilities, and their components. Collaborate with both Land and Maritime Directors of Customer Operations to align mission functions with desired customer outcomes. Manages a dynamic assignment of rotational high priority Class IX National Stock Number (NSN) populations linked to specific weapon systems that demand intensive management to ensure performance improvement. Assesses and briefs command on the health of assigned high priority NSN populations to determine optimal transition points to return to nominal management practices. Determines functional assignments and directs distribution of resources within the Directorate.

  • This is a Mission Essential (ME) position. The incumbent may be required to report to work in the event of a natural disaster, inclement weather, or crisis.
  • You will be a Mission Essential employee. This requires you to work during an emergency to ensure continuation of essential functions. You may be required to work at the designated duty location, telework site, or an alternate location/facility.

Qualifications

To qualify for a Supplier Operations Manager, your resume and supporting documentation must support: A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-15 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Development and execution of plans for several program areas. Development of internal processes and administrative controls to ensure mission success in the areas of Supply, Procurement or Technical functions. Experience with integrated material management to provide logistics solutions in support of Military readiness. Experience with intensive management processes and practices required to quickly improve performance of a specific portfolio of material items. Provide management support to maintain and improve customer and supplier relationships. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
