This position is in Facilities Management, (AFM), Operations Department, Electric shop of the National Gallery of Art. The incumbent performs the duties of an electrician leader. These duties include the leading and passing on work assignments to subordinate electricians, training subordinate electricians, repair, modification, installation, operations, maintenance, fabrication, testing, and inspection of new and existing systems and equipment.

Qualifications
Candidates must meet the Qualification Standards Handbook requirements for the WL-2805-11.
Other Relevant Eligibility Criteria:
Must be physically able to perform cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR). Must be able to work unscheduled evening and weekend hours. Requires work inside and outside, in all kinds of weather. Work is in areas that are noisy, dirty, dusty and greasy. Work can be performed 30 feet above the floor, or more. Work can be in confined spaces. Work carries risk of electrical shock and burns, and entanglement in moving machinery parts. Work is near hazardous materials and chemicals. Incumbent will be required to walk, climb, crawl, kneel, stoop, bend, push and pull for extended periods of time. Must have the ability to distinguish color and shades of color for wire color codes. Must be able to lift and carry 40 pounds.
