About the Position: Serves as a Supervisory Deputy Product Manager (DPM) for an assigned Program Executive Office (PEO). As the assigned responsible management official, provides overall direction and guidance for the development, acquisition, testing, product improvements, fielding, and sustainment of the project.

Duties

Manage all aspects of acquisition to include development, testing, system integration, production, fielding, sustainment and product improvements with a multi-million dollar annual budget. Lead and coordinate the combined efforts of the Army industrial team in expediting assigned program responsibilities. Conduct analysis and evaluation of programs as they affect assigned equipment. Directs the development of life cycle documentation for assigned projects and funds. Serves as advisor to officials with broader and higher responsibilities on status of project, progress made, projected future plans, and problems.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Selectee must meet the DoDI 5000.66 requirements applicable to the Career Category of Program Management and Practitioner Career Level Certification must be met within 60 months.
  • This position requires submission of a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE450) upon entry, and annually thereafter.
  • This position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.
  • One-year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one-year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
  • This position may require a mobility agreement as a condition of employment.

Specialized Experience is defined as the following duties which includes : 1) Applying regulatory principles to analyze programs and select an appropriate course of action to accomplish tasks; 2) Evaluate assigned aviation program to ensure compliance to pinpoint the resulting impact on areas such as scheduling and cost; and, 3) Manage areas such as the fielding, sustainment, and testing for an assigned acquisition program.This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service NH-03 or GS-13 equivalent. This position is subject to a salary control point at the GS-14, step 10 base salary. Salary for the position will be set within a range from $127,073 to $165,197 with locality. If the incumbent's salary currently exceeds this level, the salary will be at the incumbent's existing salary.
