About the position: This position will be assigned to the NAF Information Technology Office on Nellis AFB, NV.
RFT employees are guaranteed 35 hours per week, but may work up to 40 hours per week.
This position offers benefits.
CompTIA Security+ Certification required within 6 months of employment if not already obtained.
Duties
Monitors ongoing operation of network systems to ensure hardware and software are functioning properly and that operational standards are met. Uses established computer techniques to identify and promptly resolve network- related problems within the organization. Troubleshoots hardware, software, and Local Area Network (LAN) problems. Identifies and determines corrective action to be taken in case of individual job failures not covered by standard procedures.

Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.
- This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use.
- The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess a valid state driver's license.
- This position requires the incumbent to complete CompTIA Security+ Certification within 6 months of employment if not already obtained.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Qualifying Experience:
Knowledge of DoD and Air Force automated data processing and networking standards, policies, and techniques. Knowledge of
computer hardware and software systems and their interfaces. DLS, Aloha POS, Rec Trak, Food Trak and QOLNET/EISP; these systems are comparable to COBOL and FORTRAN. Knowledgeable regarding data content and output options for a variety of administrative, scientific and/or technical program applications that are processed on any of several multi-program operating systems. Need to know facility environment and infrastructure to support computer systems. Ability to use and maintain a computer system, equipment, and software; analyze computer network, software, and hardware problems; develop effective and economical solutions; and train user on new computer systems. Highly desired knowledge of Command Line Interface (CUI). Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
