Duties

You will ensure compliance with established security policies and procedures and coordinate command security requirements as the Team Lead of the International Security Team. You will analyze and research security issues, identify solutions, and communicate those solutions effectively, You will establish priorities and coordinate work across projects, programs or people, and effectively balance work demands. You will manage tasking and training for members of the International Security Team and work closely with team members to ensure they are familiar with relevant policies and are completing tasking/projects as assigned. You will provide guidance for the control and protection of classified and sensitive unclassified material/information during visits and subsequent contacts with foreign nationals and commercial representatives.

Requirements

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

DA-05: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (DA-04) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate some or all of the following: 1) Demonstrating knowledge of security policies and procedures for the proper protection, handling and marking of controlled unclassified information (CUI) and classified information; 2) Analyzing and researching security issues, identifying solutions, and communicating those solutions; 3) Reviewing and approving documentation associated with foreign national visits (i.e. security plans, personal security plans); 4) Providing daily support in general security administration by answering security inquiries; and 5) Leading other security specialists and assistants from an oversight perspective and providing training and guidance. DA-04: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (DA-03) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate some or all of the following: 1) Utilizing security policies and procedures for the proper protection, handling and marking of controlled unclassified information (CUI) and classified information; 2) Assisting in researching security issues, identifying solutions, and communicating those solutions; 3) Assisting in reviewing and approving documentation associated with foreign national visits (i.e. security plans, personal security plans); 4) Assisting in providing daily support in general security administration by answering security inquiries. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

DA-04:
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
OR
3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree
OR
LL.M., if related
