About the Position: This position serves as a Technical Writer of the Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System (JCIDS), GS-1083-12 in Army Futures Command (AFC), Concepts Center Support Battalion located in Fort Sam Houston, TX. Duties

Plan, write, coordinate, edit, and prepare documents as the official Army medical JCIDS documents for the Army through collaboration with the materiel and training developers. Provide input following review and analysis of proposed medical materiel efforts to the materiel developer involving Research and Development (R and D) programs. Conduct research, analysis, and review, and provides written comment involving program Acquisition Strategies, Acquisition Decision Memoranda, and Systems Training Plans. Review new or changed procedures, policies, regulations, laws, etc. affecting assigned responsibilities.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security clearance.
  • Must be able to travel 10% of the time.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service which includes 1) Planning, writing, coordinating, editing, and preparing documents for the organization through collaboration with the materiel and training developers; 2) Researching, analyzing, and preparing written feedback addressing materiel developer medical materiel and equipping solutions for supportability and affordability; 3) Developing medical materiel solutions for integration and development systems; AND 4) Utilizing organizational knowledge management systems.
