Duties
Conduct analysis of clinical information, clinical service, utilization, and cost-related data to support population health improvement.
Promote evidence-based patient care, clinical preventive services, operational readiness, and performance improvement within the command and throughout the region.
Develop data needs and coordinates continuous monitoring and oversight of local clinical registries along with Military Health System (MHS) wide databases.
Provide technical and professional consultation to command staff on issues relating to population health and medical management data analysis, and tests applicability of business questions as supported by the available data.
Prepare written and oral correspondence of population health data and analysis for presentation and dissemination.
Provide periodic reports of population health initiatives including data analysis and recommendations for system and process improvement to Executive Leadership, Directors, Department Heads, Clinics and Providers.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
- A pre-placement medical examination may be required.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes utilizing office automation software to produce correspondences and reports; analyzing health care systems or operations to assist with recommendations for improvements; and preparing statistical data reports for leadership. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
OR
Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in hospital administration, public health administration, or related fields such as business or public administration with course work in health care administration.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
