Duties
Incumbent is the process owner for cataloging and as such serves as the process expert and provides direction on all matters pertaining to a full range of operational and administrative functions involved in managing centralized logistics data.
The incumbent owns all policies, procedures, guidance and control of the functional aspects of the process.
Responsibility involves exercising staff surveillance over process, policy, planning, operation, and execution for the entire approved blueprint of the process.
Initiates and develops policies, and procedures that guide and control of assigned process activities within the agency, across the Department, and NATO community.
Responsible for the review, analysis, and development of process policy for DLA including evaluation and recommended disposition of requests for waivers to statutory requirements and deviations from DoD and DLA policy and directives.
Analyzes new and proposed policies to determine the extent of their influence upon the existing policies and regulations and the program objectives.
Serves as a focal point for review and evaluation of short- and long-range plans involving assigned processes, including those which set forth the process strategy.
Plays a key role in legislative matters as related to initiation, development, and recommendation of legislation pertaining to the assigned program area.
Exercises staff supervision over process execution in assigned area.

Qualifications
To qualify for a Director, Logistics Information Services your resume and supporting documentation must support:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To qualify at the GS-15 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes:
Expert experience reviewing, analyzing, and developing process policy .
Expert experience in review and evaluation of short- and long-range plans involving assigned processes, including those which set forth the process strategy.
Displayed experience formulating execution strategies and policies, evaluating current and proposed process improvements, identifying new and improved applications, and plans for long range efficiency enhancements.
Developing innovative strategies and procedures to overcome process problems and to evaluate, maintain, and improve process performance.
Experience maintaining liaison with high level officials and technical personnel of DoD, DLA, and other agencies in matters related to new technologies and best practices.

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
