About the Position: Serves as the Administrative Officer for the Chief of Staff and senior level decision makers in the Army Medical Department (AMEDD)to include the Office of The Surgeon General (OTSG) and the U.S. Army Medical Command (MEDCOM) in support of technical and administrative matters relating to the accomplishment, coordination, and disposition of a variety of substantive staff actions and assignments.
Duties
Advises and assists the Executive Assistant and Chief of Staff in establishing procedures for the organization and its operations.
Maintains control of administrative actions for military and civilian personnel assigned to the Chief of Staff.
Performs database queries and prepares reports.
Provides support in security, procurement, automation and similar administrative areas as necessary.
Performs typing on a computer keyboard as well as having knowledge of office hardware and software systems.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a 'SECRET' Security Clearance.
- May be required to lift heavy items up to 5lbs.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and experience requirements described below. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service which includes: 1) performing administrative actions to include applying principles, practices, policies, and/or processes to ensure effective and efficient administrative operations; 2) Utilizes modern office automation systems to assist the organization with preparing letters, memoranda, and reports; 3) providing advice and recommendations on coordination, integration, and synchronization of staff actions; AND 4) Overseeing administrative personnel actions as assigned. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position, such as Business or Administration. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
