About the Position: Serves as the Army Material Command Category Management primary analyst and the Data Analytics coordinator for Category Management and other pertinent Resource, Acquisition, and Support Division (RAS) analysis, and AMC's business and acquisition reform and optimization efforts G-8.
Duties
Fosters and maintains effective working relationships with all levels of officials, supervisors, contemporaries, and subordinates.
Consults, advises, and recommends policy changes as necessary to improve category management and strategic acquisitions across the enterprise, especially in cases where successful business transformation opportunities exist.
Proactively develop, coordinate, and implement strategic programs/initiatives/activities for the category management mission.
Develop key operational metrics and evaluate and prioritize assumptions and conclusions supporting the short and long-term strategic category management initiatives.
Effectively perform data analytical assessments to ensure category management activities are optimized.
Provide input into category management documents or initiatives to include information papers, positions papers, and new initiative development for the Chief, Category Management and Policy.
Utilize extensive problem-solving skills needed to identify actual and/or potential problems areas, trends, deficiencies, or areas of imbalance, and takes all the necessary actions to resolve them.
Research, investigate, and conduct comprehensive analysis relating to the effectiveness and efficiency of major administrative and management operations.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance for the duration of the appointment.
- You may be expected to travel up to 20% for this position.

Specialized Experience: I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service which includes employing Program analysis, planning concepts, and techniques to accomplish a variety of specialized acquisition strategies; applying process improvement principles, category management principles, and/or data analytics, all to provide maximum process efficiencies; conducting in-depth analyses of category conditions to include: financial management systems, procurement, audit, base operations; logistical services, and experience with regulatory compliance.
