SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-11, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience include experience in the use and application of technical or
engineering concepts, principles, and practices applicable to the broad range of engineering related duties concerned with the design and development of 3-D CADD models; Completing design tasks for various projects through the application of design analysis to determine tolerances, materials, processes, and finishes in a 2-D and 3-D design space; Preparing detailed layouts used in multiple tool design efforts; Preparing and briefing higher level management concerning the status of projects and providing design support and input for reverse engineering projects.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-11 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-12 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. A comprehensive knowledge of 3-D Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) Solid Modeling programs specifically Siemens NX and/or CATIA is an essential skill requirement. Incumbent must possess a thorough knowledge of parametric modeling concepts and techniques, operation and language. How to create, store and retrieve electronic data files and graphics displays and how to manipulate these data files are essential skill requirements.
