The incumbent serves as Supervisory Program Specialist of the Imaging Service in the VA Medical Center West Palm Beach, Florida. Primary purpose of the position is to oversee the daily operations of all administrative activities within the Service. The incumbent has full and specific delegated authority with responsibility for the Service management decisions and partners with the Chief Technologists and Chief, Imaging Service for clinical input and guidance for the operation.
Duties
The incumbent coordinates, implements, and conducts extensive ongoing analysis and in-depth analysis of the effectiveness and efficiency, and program changes within the Service to ensure clinical and administrative programs are in compliance with regulations. Duties include but are not limited to:
Applying appropriate measures through both qualitative and quantitative assessment.
Compliance with Medical Center performance measures, compliance with Joint Commission and other various agencies requirements.
Supports the Service by providing analysis of pertinent data leading to specific recommendation of resource use and allocation to the various Department programs and clinics.
Incumbent establishes, implements, and monitors procedures to collect and tract for qualitative and quantitative performance assessment within the Service.
Performs the following administrative duties that includes but it is not limited to: VA Medical Center Action Items; congressional responses from various sources including those generated from patient letters or complaints; serving as a Fund Control Point Official and approving official for Purchase Card; coordinating responses for Peer Review, Service level Review, and Medical Advisory Expert Reviews that are requested from the Service.
Controlling funds allocated to the Service.
First line supervisor and provides technical and administrative supervision.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 01/29/2024.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-12 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-11. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.
You may qualify based on your experience as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-11 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Demonstrated experience and skill in applying complex and difficult analytical, theories and evaluative techniques to healthcare delivery systems and managed care networks; determining staff to workload ratios in customer service or patient advocacy; organizational performance improvement efforts, ability to utilize and analyze customer service related tools, reports and evaluation methods; demonstrate effective time management for self and team to ensure all requirements are completed within designated timelines; developing written materials and making oral presentations; determining objectives and strategies; coordinating with other parts of the organization to accomplish goals; and monitoring and evaluating the progress and outcomes of operational plans..

Physical Requirements: The work is primarily sedentary with long periods of sitting at a desk, working with computers daily. Some work may require walking in offices and similar areas for meetings. Work may also require walking and standing in conjunction with travel to and attendance at meetings and conferences away from the worksite. The work does not require any special physical effort.
