About the Position: Provides military personnel administrative and technical support for the U.S. Army Human Resources Command (HRC) , DCS G-1/G-4 Personnel Services Branch.
Duties
Initiate, review, and/or assist in completion of personnel management actions in various areas.
Maintain records of the management actions using various automated or manual systems.
Utilize computer software packages in the performance of assigned duties..
Contact internal and external organizations to discuss the administration of career management issues.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- The employee must obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance and access.
- This position requires that the employee occasionally travel away from the normal duty station up to 25% of the time.

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: Applying military personnel rules, procedures, and operations sufficient to perform a full range of support activities; using personal computer to input, extract, query, and research data in military personnel database systems as well as performing office applications; using on-line resources to obtain information. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06) (or equivalent).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
Position may be filled as a temporary promotion or temporary reassignment not to exceed 1 year by a current permanent Army employee. Temporary promotions or reassignments may be extended up to a maximum of five years and may be made permanent without further competition.
Position may be filled as temporary appointment not to exceed 1 year, if candidate is not a current permanent Army employee. Temporary appointments may be extended up to a maximum of three years.
Education
Some Federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for required experience in order to qualify. For this position, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone. Substitution of education for experience is NOT permitted.
