You will serve as a HUMAN PERFORMANCE PROGRAM MANAGER of TRAINING AND EDUCATION COMMAND.

Duties

You will oversee the work of personnel to ensure administrative and technical requirements are met. You will apply a broad range of qualitative and quantitative measures to assess matters pertaining to fitness, conditioning, nutrition, injury, rehabilitation, etc. You will plan and coordinate systematic new or revised studies of human performance, fitness and injury mitigation. You will oversee the preparation of and maintains status reports of progress toward meeting current performance-related goals.

Requirements

  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • Must possess and maintain certifications in Sports Science, Athletic Trainer by the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA) Board of Certification (BOC), or National Strength and Conditioning Certifications as required.
  • Must possess certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitations (CPR) and First Aid is required.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience with Athletic Training, Strength and Conditioning, Performance Nutrition, Physiology, Biomechanics, and other related fields within the exercise science domain. Experience applying a broad range of qualitative and quantitative measures to assess matters pertaining to fitness, conditioning, nutrition, injury, and rehabilitation. Experience overseeing the preparation and maintenance of status reports, and progress toward meeting performance-related goals. Experience determining trends and contributing factors; promote well-being and reduce the incident of injuries; and follow up to provide quality improvement strategies. . A Bachelor's or Graduate/higher level degree: major study in an academic field related to the medical field, health sciences or allied sciences appropriate to the work of the position. This degree must be from an educational program from an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education(external link) at the time the degree was obtained.
