About the Position: Serves as ACS Specialist at the installation level with professional and technical responsibility for assisting with assessing, tailoring and prioritizing ACS service delivery in support of local military and family needs. This position is located in US Army Garrison, Miami.
Duties
Provide referrals for specialized support and follows up on actions to ensure appropriate support to Surviving Families that are part of the SOS Community.
Evaluate services needs, training, and/or coordination with other agencies to determine resolution.
Serve as Army Community Service (ACS) Multi-Functional Specialist at the installation level.
Interview, counsel, and advise individuals and families on all facets of the ACS.
Develop plans that meet both long and short range goals for units and their deployments with Family Readiness Groups.
Design and establish marketing and public relations strategies.
Conduct unit needs' assessments and compiles and analyzes data for trainings.
Implement, prepare and deliver briefings and trainings, presentations .
Use Social Media for virtual trainings.

Basic Requirement:
Degree: Behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position.
OR
Combination of education and/or experience that provided the applicant with the knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
OR
Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position, you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
Specialized experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) coordinating plans, activities and support to family members and personnel; 2) handling client problems; 3) developing and using self-assessment, community assessment and various measurement tools to identify trends and organizational needs; and 4) developing marketing strategies and public relations programs.
OR
Education; Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Psychology, Sociology, Counseling, or Social Work.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
