Serves as a Sr. Human Resources (HR) Specialist in the Shared Service Center and leads a team of HR professionals whose primary functions involve processing payroll related actions and secondarily processing personnel actions in the Federal Personnel and Payroll System (FPPS). Performs multiple, varying, and complex assignments under the minimal direction of a manager or more experienced professional. May act as a contributing specialist on large work activities as a team lead/project manager.

Duties

Serves as a liaison between the Shared Service Center, the HR Services Divisions (HRSD), Benefits Operations Center (BOC), FAA and the Department of Interior (DOI) Payroll Operations office to resolve issues related to transactional processing and accurate processing and payment of FAA employees. Applies experience and comprehensive knowledge applicable to payroll policies, systems and processing. Assignments frequently require knowledge and experience working across functional and/or organizational lines.

Requirements

  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
  • Must submit an SF50 (See Required Documents)
  • Successful completion of a security investigation may be required
  • A one-year probationary period may be required

Qualifications

To qualify for this position at the FV-I (GS/FG 13) level, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the FV-H (GS/FG 12) level. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE includes experience using an automated system to process payroll/benefits and various other personnel actions; experience with applying pay setting guidance to verify pay; experience with working within a team to solve problems, achieve goals and objectives through combined cooperative efforts.Applicants should include examples of specialized experience in their Work History/Resume.Qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this vacancy announcement.
