About the Position: This position supports the mission of the J-8 Financial Operations, Direct Care Financial Management (DCFM) and it is located on JBSA - Fort Sam Houston, TX or San Antonio, TX. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service.

Duties

Serve as consultant to DHA DCFM Chief, Accounting Branch to assist in transition of all MTFs from their prospective services to the DHA. Prepare and advise management on the DCFM Master Data requirements for GFEBS. Provide training to MTFs throughout DCFM for applicable financial systems. Formulate and implement accounting systems and policies, direct operational accounting procedures/actions, implement accounting policies and systems, and continuously monitor actions and reports. Perform a variety of budgetary and administrative accounting system functions in support DCFM activities. Coordinate with other functions of DCFM Accounting and other organizational elements of the DHA J8 in order to maintain accurate resource data which impacts on assigned activities.

• THIS IS A FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT Level 2 Certified position. The incumbent of this position is required to obtain and maintain a Level 2 DoD Financial Management Certification within two years from entry on duty.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) assisting with advising on Master Data requirements for government financial systems such as GFEBS, 2) participating in the implementation of accounting system policies, AND 3) assisting in the analysis of master data requests to ensure compliance with regulations or policies. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
