Duties

Plans weekly and monthly work schedules and sequence of operations for subordinates. Selects workers and assigns tasks to be performed. Explains work requirements, methods, and procedures: instructs subordinates in new procedures, and provides advice when problems arise. Reviews work in progress or upon completion. Develops performance standards, counsels employees on performance, and makes formal and informal performance appraisals. Approves/disapproves processes using established procedures.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
• This position requires the employee to use personal protective equipment provided by the employer.
• Due to the nature of this position, employees may be required to work both planned and unscheduled overtime.
• This position may require shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.
• Position may be filled by a Temporary appointment not to exceed one year, if the candidate is not a current permanent Army employee. Temporary appointments may be extended up to a maximum of three years.
• May be filled as temporary promotion or reassignment NTE 1 year by a current permanent Army employee. Temporary promotions and reassignments may be extended up to 5 years.
• A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
• This position has a data analytics requirement. The incumbent must meet all requirements for data analytics level 1 certification within 12 months of being placed on the position.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is generally done inside in areas that are air conditioned, well lighted, heated, and ventilated or in machine shop areas. May work outside or in areas that are drafty, hot, poorly lighted, noisy, and dirty. Subject to grease, coolants, and possibility of cuts, scrapes, and bruises.
