About the Position: Serves as the safety and occupational health manager for Human Resources Command (HRC) and administers a safety and occupational health and fire prevention program for organizations engaged an administrative and clerical operations.
Duties
Reviews plans to ensure compliance with applicable safety and health standards, regulations, and codes.
Investigates and analyzes mishaps and hazardous conditions to determine origin, causes, and contributing factors.
Provides oral and/or written reports concerning findings, with recommendations for corrective safety and health countermeasures.
Plans, organizes, coordinates, directs, evaluates, and financially manages a comprehensive safety and occupational health program.
Eliminate or control the risk of injury to personnel assigned to a variety of occupations.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.

Specialized Experience GS-11: Experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service which includes work such as assisting with management and execution of safety tasks and programs to include conducting facility safety inspections, mishap investigations, program audits, and compliance functions.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).
OR
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related.
Time in Grade Requirement GS-11: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
