As a Workplace Program Specialist, you will operate as a subject matter and program specialist and as a full service consultant to customer agencies on workplace needs.Location of position: GSA, PBS, Northwest Arctic Region, Planning Division in Tacoma, WA.
We are currently filling one vacancy, but additional vacancies may be filled as needed.
Duties
Provides technical advice on optimal space utilization, coordinating with customers, management officials and other subject matter specialists to identify and share information on resources to help Federal agencies reduce office space while fostering collaboration, better managing information technology (IT) spending, and increasing energy efficiency.
Through business and workplace design and related analysis, the employee assists the customer in the implementation and execution of the different space offerings, arriving at a solution that best meets the customer’s requirements.
As a subject matter specialist, the employee provides comprehensive business advice and guidance touching upon the following issues and areas: workplace design, construction, operations, etc. to ensure customers have a sound understanding the selection of a particular space options and how these will meet their needs in the long-term.
Consults with other Federal agencies, project managers, program managers and vendors regarding problems on projects and programs in the field of rapidly evolving workplace innovations and the broad range of solutions and opportunities to enhance business success.
Requirements
- US Citizenship or National (Residents of American Samoa and Swains Island)
- Meet all eligibility criteria within 30 days of the closing date

If you are a new federal employee, your starting salary will likely be set at the Step 1 of the grade for which you are selected. To qualify, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or higher in the Federal service.
Specialized experience is experience performing realty work related to developing workplace requirements for building tenants, coordinating and developing tenant space solutions, analyzing and communicating technical financial data and budget processes, and managing customer relationships to ensure solutions meet organizational and customer goals and objectives.
