As a Program Management Officer, you will serve as the Branch Chief for Energy, Environmental, and Safety Programs within the Facilities Management Division. Responsibilities of the position encompass the sustainability, energy, environmental, safety and health, and fire/life safety programs.Location of position: GSA, PBS, Northwest/Arctic Region, Facilities Management Division

Duties
Plans, organizes, directs and coordinates regional programs for sustainability, energy, environmental, safety and health, and fire/life safety through the direction and supervision of a professional and technical staff. Makes program decisions through the development and execution of short and long range management plans for program implementation, considering the overall regional PBS management objectives.
Makes decisions regarding the proper program management tools and resource allocation needed to implement program plans.
Coordinates extensively with other PBS Offices and the National Office to ensure a unified approach to regional programs.
Represents PBS in matters which involve high industry, Government officials and other stakeholders.
Oversees and participates in the preparation of annual budget estimates and the administration of approved allotments. Evaluates expenditures of funds against allowances and the results achieved. Reviews requests and justifications for supplemental allowances of funds and staffing. Develops and coordinates with stakeholders and partners, long-range planning based on anticipated program expansion and other changes; construction of new buildings; developments and trends in related PBS areas; and other pertinent factors related to field activities.

If you are a new federal employee, your starting salary will likely be set at the Step 1 of the grade for which you are selected. To qualify, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level or higher in the Federal service.
Specialized experience is managing, coordinating, and implementing programs and executing policies, regulations, and procedures related to the operations of a commercial office building in one or more of the following building programs: energy and sustainability, environmental, safety, fire protection, and/or building operations.
