Duties

You will serve as a FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT ANALYST in the FINANCE DEPARTMENT (CODE 600), MID-ATLANTIC REGIONAL MAINTENANCE CENTER (MARMC), SHIP REPAIR BUDGETING (CODE 612), NORFOLK, VA. You will receive developmental assignments designed to increase the employee's knowledge and understanding of the function of budget, accounting, and financial management. You will assist in the performance of functions for formation of budget and estimates to support plans, programs, and activities; review and evaluate budget requests, control and reporting of obligations and expenditures. You will research guides to locate accounting, budgetary and financial information and prepares summaries for use by higher-graded analysts.

Requirements

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This is a Financial Management Level II certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. You must achieve this level within prescribed timelines. Certification requirements are in DoD Instruction 1300.26.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of SPECIALIZED experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector: Experience applying the concepts, principles, practices, laws, and regulations of budgeting and/or financing and their relation to subordinate and senior levels. Experience performing and providing advice on work in any of the phases or systems of budget administration to include: formulation of budget and estimates to support plans, programs, and activities, including presenting and defending budget estimates before authorities; review and evaluate budget requests; control, and reporting of obligations and expenditures. Experience developing, determining, and interpreting of budgetary policies and practices. Experience performing a variety of other fiscal, accounting, or financial management duties and responsibilities may also be performed by incumbents of this position depending on the needs of the organization.
