DCSA's Enterprise Management and Support is looking for a Supervisory Security Assistant, GG-0086-11 to serve as the Supervisory Security Assistant within the Systems Liaison Branch, supervising a team of security assistants with the responsibility for reviewing and replying to incoming telephone inquiries, emails, correspondence, and certification forms. Duties

As a SUPERVISORY SECURITY ASSISTANT you will be responsible for the following duties: - Approve time and attendance submissions from subordinates. - Approve requests for leave from subordinates. - Coordinate team shift schedules to most efficiently meet customer contact volume. - Provide advice to subordinate security assistants on work methods, practices and procedures, problem solving techniques. - Communicate and enforce standard operating procedures with subordinates. - Assign work to subordinates based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of assignments, and the capabilities of employees. - Assure reasonable equity of performance and rating techniques. - Make recommendation to CCS Supervisor, Branch Chief, or Senior Leadership regarding disciplinary measures, such as warnings and reprimands and other action in serious cases. - Give advice, counsel, or instructions to employees on both work and administrative matters. - Assist in the making and approval of selections for subordinate non-supervisory positions. - Recommend appointment, promotions, or reassignments to positions. - Resolve complaints from employees, seeking higher-level guidance, when needed. - Advises subordinates of violations of rules, regulations and other guides. - Engages CCS leadership as appropriate to resolve issues and conflicts within the team. - Keeps CCS leadership appraised of team performance, challenges, and accomplishments

Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have specialized experience sufficient to demonstrate that you have acquired all the competencies necessary to perform at a level equivalent in difficulty, responsibility, and complexity to the next lower grade (GG/GS-09) in the Federal service and are prepared to take on greater responsibility. Generally, this would include one year or more of such specialized experience. Specialized experience for this position includes: Oral and written communications. Working effectively with others. Assessing operational situations, identifying, and describing problems, and recommending alternative solutions based on applicable guidance. Directing of workload and team activities, performing time and attendance, personnel actions and evaluation responsibilities. Providing training to users on external facing information technology programs used for personnel security to ensure the proper safeguarding of security information. Conduct on the job training, field complex questions and generally act as a liaison between the management team and junior and inexperienced team members. Specifically you will be evaluated on the following competencies: 1. Influencing/Negotiating: Establishes and maintains relationships with key individuals/groups; understands what motivates them. Actively encourages and supports enhancement of a joint perspective. 4. Problem Solving: Identifies and analyzes problems; weighs relevance and accuracy of information; seeks/generates and evaluates alternative perspectives/solutions; makes timely/ effective recommendations, based on potential implications of findings or conclusions. Critically evaluates to identify the causes of problems, and chooses courses of action that balance the interests of the mission and stakeholders. 5. Strategic Thinking: Formulates objectives and priorities, and implements plans consistent with the long-term interests of the organization in a global environment that takes into consideration the environment, resources, capabilities, constraints, and organizational goals and values. Capitalizes on opportunities and manages risks and contingencies, recognizing the implications for the organization and stakeholders.
