DCSA's Customer and Stakeholder Engagement is looking for and individual to serve as a Security Assistant in the Customer Liaison and Engagements program, under the general supervision of the Branch Chief System Liaison. The Group performs a variety of functions supporting DCSA's nationwide personnel security, suitability and investigations programs. Interested in National Security? Duties

As a SECURITY ASSISTANT you will be responsible for the following duties:

Requirements

  • Must be a US citizen
  • Selective Service Requirement: Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service. For more information http://www.sss.gov

  • This is a Drug Testing designated position
  • Position is a (DCIPS) position in the Excepted Service under U.S.C. 1601
  • Work Schedule: Full Time
  • Overtime: Occasionally
  • Tour of Duty: Flexible
  • PCS (Permanent Change of Station): Not Authorized
  • Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA): Non-Exempt
  • Financial Disclosure: Not Required
  • Telework Eligibility: This position is telework eligible, but is not a full time telework position. The incumbent will be required to report to the office on a routine basis.
  • If selected, the incumbent must obtain and maintain appropriate security clearance as indicated in job announcement.

Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have specialized experience sufficient to demonstrate that you have acquired all the competencies necessary to perform at a level equivalent in difficulty, responsibility, and complexity to the next lower grade in the Federal service and are prepared to take on greater responsibility. Generally, this would include one year or more of such specialized experience. For the GG-08: Specialized experience obtained in federal service, military service or private sector that equipped me with the all the competencies necessary to perform at a level equivalent in difficulty, responsibility, and complexity to the next lower grade (GS/GG-07) and are prepared to take on greater responsibility. Generally, this would include one year or more of such specialized experience. Specialized experience for the GG-08 position includes: Experience with personnel vetting procedures and processes. Oral and written communications experience. Working effectively with others and analytical ability to assess operational situations, identify and describe problems and recommend alternative solutions based on applicable guidance. For the GG-09: Specialized experience obtained in federal service, military service or private sector that equipped me with the all the competencies necessary to perform at a level equivalent in difficulty, responsibility, and complexity to the next lower grade (GS/GG-08) and are prepared to take on greater responsibility. Generally, this would include one year or more of such specialized experience. Specialized experience for the GG-09 position includes: Experience with personnel vetting procedures and processes. Oral and written communications experience. Working effectively with others and analytical ability to assess operational situations, identify and describe problems and recommend alternative solutions based on applicable guidance. Experience with customer service principles, concepts and methods. use of DCSA background investigations systems, such as NBIS, eAPP, DISS, DCII, and Service Now or other equivalent investigation systems. Specifically you will be evaluated on the following competencies: 1. Applies Technology to Tasks: Selects and understands procedures, machines, or tools that will produce the desired results; identifies or solves problems in machines, computers, or other technologies as they are related to performing tasks. 2. Customer Service (Clerical/Technical): Works and communicates with clients and customers (e.g., any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit provides, including individuals who work in your agency or in other agencies or organizations outside the Government) to satisfy their expectations. Committed to quality services. 3. Decision Making: Makes sound, well informed, and objective decisions; perceives the impact and implications of decisions; commits to action, even in uncertain situations, to accomplish organizational goals; causes change. 4. Organizational Awareness: Knows how social, political, organizational, and technological systems work and operates effectively within them. This includes the policies, procedures, rules and regulations of the work unit or organization. 5. Technical Competence: Knowledge of how to perform one's job. Refers to specialized knowledge that is acquired through formal training or extensive on-the-job experience.

Education

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
