This position will be assigned to the Fitness Center at JBSA Lackland, TX. This is a regular part-time category position with guaranteed 20 hours per week, but may work up to 40hrs/week. Employees appointed to regular category positions are eligible for benefits. Must be able to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 100 pounds with assistance.

Duties

Performs a variety of duties and responsibilities in support of the day to day operation of JBSA Lackland Fitness Centers. Serves as desk attendant ensuring only authorized patrons use the facility and equipment, and adhere to Fitness Center policy. Greets visitors, answers telephones, makes reservations for classes or use of equipment and facilities, and provides information on scheduled events and classes. Issues sports equipment and completes required documentation for transactions. Inspects returned equipment noting damage. Reports damaged exercise equipment to supervisor. Performs opening and closing procedures of facilities in accordance with written guidelines. Maintains and prepares Fitness Center facilities, grounds and equipment for daily use, programs and special functions. Performs other duties as assigned. Works under the supervision of the Supervisory Fitness and Sports Specialist or the Fitness and Sports Director. Requirements

• This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.
• This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination. Must be able to lift objects weight 50 lbs. unassisted and up to 100 lbs. with assistance.
• This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations. May be required to work an uncommon tour of duty.
• Must possess a current American Red Cross Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and first aid certification or obtain within 30 days of hire.
