Duties
Serves as the Deputy to the Director of Training and Co-Chairperson of the Training Program Evaluation Group; G37-Training Directorate. The Deputy to the Director of Training and Co-Chairperson of the Training Program Evaluation Group (TT PEG); G37-Training Directorate is responsible for policy, planning, programming, budgeting and execution (PPBE) of Army training enterprise and for validating requirements, evaluating the efficacy and efficiency of existing and previously validated requirements and for assessing the relative value of emerging and existing requirements so as to maintain program accountability, auditability and balance. This includes all collective and institutional training, to include the Combat Training Center Program, the Army Exercise Program, military and civilian training and leader development, training services support, Army ammunition policy and programming, joint and international integration and Army-wide program analysis. Co-leads, plans, programs, budgets and executes the Army $28B+ training and mission accounts. Provides oversight over Army Mission Portfolio which includes a wide variety of operational support activities: North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) mission, Army funded Combatant Commander activities, missile defense, cyber operations, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance operations, electronic warfare, counter intelligence, etc. Responsible for an internal budget of $30 million. Performance is reviewed in the broadest terms for technical perceptiveness, managerial competence and senior leadership effectiveness for contribution to the TT PEG and training enterprise. Serves under the general direction of and receives broad strategic guidance from the G-37, Director of Training. The Deputy Director of Training is deputized with leadership authority and responsibility for all areas within the Directorate except those items withheld exclusively by the Director. Oversees a workforce of 91 combined military and civilians; directly supervises 3 personnel at the Colonel (O-6)/GS-15 levels.
Qualifications

(1) Mandatory Executive Core Qualification (MANDATORY SUBMISSION) (ECQ)
All applicants must submit written statements (narrative format) describing accomplishments that would satisfy the ECQs. Use the Challenge-Context-Action-Result (CCAR) Model to describe your accomplishments. You must address each ECQ separately. You are required to respond to all ECQs. Failure to do so, will result in an 'ineligible' rating. Each accomplishment should be clear, concise, and emphasize your level of responsibilities, the scope and complexity of programs managed, and results of your actions. Total ECQ write-up should not exceed 10 pages using 12pt, Arial or Times New Roman with 1-inch margins.
Please Note: Current career SES members, former career SES members with reinstatement eligibility, and SES Candidate Development Program (CDP) graduates, who have been certified by the OPM do not need to address ECQs. However, Current or Former SES members must provide an SF-50 showing their status or reinstatement eligibility and Candidates who have successfully graduated from an OPM approved Candidate Development Program must submit a copy of their ECQ certification.

ECQ 5 - Building Coalitions: This core qualification involves the ability to build coalitions internally and with other Federal agencies, State and local governments, nonprofit and private sector organizations, foreign governments, or international organizations to achieve common goals.
(2) MANDATORY TECHNICAL QUALIFICATION(S) (TQ): (MANDATORY SUBMISSION) A supplemental statement must be submitted separately addressing each TQ. Your TQ must provide specific examples that address relevant experience and accomplishments. Total TQ write-up should not exceed 2 pages per TQ using 12pt, Arial or Times New Roman with 1-inch margins. Applicants must reflect superior technical qualifications demonstrated through leadership and management in the following:
TQ: Ability to balance strategic guidance within resources, and to develop near and long term requirements in a dynamic, people-centered, environment.
Education
